From IMDb:
A high school teacher’s unusual experiment to demonstrate to his students what life is like under a dictatorship spins horribly out of control when he forms a social unit with a life of its own.
Great movie!

I really enjoyed this flick. Way better and much more entertaining than most of the crap made in Hollywood.
First full length trailer for David Fincher’s adaptation of Stieg Larsson‘s blockbuster novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The movie stars Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander, the young, heavily tattooed computer hacker genius and Daniel Craig as disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist to solve the case of a young girl who went mysteriously missing in the 1960s. I read the book about a year ago and am looking forward to the movie.
A famous 1951 U.S. civil defense propaganda short film for children in which Bert the Turtle shows what to do in case of nuclear bomb attack.
From Wikipedia:
Duck and Cover was a suggested method of personal protection against the effects of a nuclear weapon which the United States government taught to generations of United States school children from the early 1950s into the 1980s. This was supposed to protect them in the event of an unexpected nuclear attack which, they were told, could come at any time without warning. Immediately after they saw a flash they had to stop what they were doing and get on the ground under some cover—such as a table, or at least next to a wall—and assume the fetal position, lying face-down and covering their heads with their hands.
Here’s a very well made animation showcasing the structure and function of the Berlin Wall courtesy of Deutsche Welle.
For 28 years, a nearly insurmountable barrier kept people from fleeing East Germany. But then, the dramatic night of November 9, 1989, saw the fall of the Wall that divided Germany. Today, it is difficult to imagine what was bitter reality just a few decades ago.
For the first time, a realistic computer animation reveals the vast security system of Germany’s inner border and the Berlin Wall, both of which were recreated virtually in the greatest detail.
The animation is part of the DVD Walled in! What The Cold War Frontier In Divided Germany Was Really Like which can be purchased at DW’s online store.

Warner Bros. just released a teaser poster for the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises movie.. and yes, it is nothing short of spectacular! I love it and am looking forward to the movie, in theaters July 20, 2012.
Here goes your viral video of the day: a fascinating short movie from filmmaker James W. Griffiths shot entirely on the Nokia N8 cellular phone.
Watched it last night. The movie retells the story of the early years of the West German extremist group called the Rote Armee Fraktion (a.k.a. Red Army Faction, or RAF). Lots of action, violence and… subtitles. Very well done and pretty fast-paced. Recommended!

I rarely watch movies nowadays and even rarely rate anything with five stars, but I give this Argentinian film high five without much hesitation. It is the best foreign film I have seen since The Lives Of Others… and that’s saying something. So, in case you haven’t seen it yet, please do yourself a favor and do so. It’s brilliant!
